MCL Update
Here is an update on what is going on with my knee. I have been working with our athletic trainer on different things and i have been making progress, but its kinda been taking two steps forward and then one step back. Like on Thursday i was feeling really good so Caroline (our trainer) told me to run for 30 minutes which was about 14 laps around our field. So i did that and had no problems. Friday i felt good so i did 6 laps where i jog the sidelines and then sprint the endlines. Had no problem doing that so Caroline said to try some passing. I was really nervous passing at first so i took it really easy but after a while i started relaxing and was passing pretty normal. Then there was one pass where i kinda cut the ball back a little bit and that hurt so i told my trainer and after about 3 more passes she asked me how my knee was feeling and i said that it was hurting since that one bad pass so she told me that was enough for the day. Saturday morning and during our warm-up i felt great. Caroline wanted me to do some progression running, where i build up on the first thrid of the field, sprint the middle third, and then slow down on the last third. She told me to do a minimum of 5 and a max of 8. I did one and it hurt really bad so i told her and she told me to try it without my brace and it hurt just as bad. So i stopped and went to the gym and just did my usual 45 minutes on this machine called the Arc Trainer which is similar to an eliptical. (Don't worry Caroline told me to.) She told me to rest sunday and then we will see what is going on on Monday. So here we are! Today was a good day, and im hoping i will still feel good tomorrow. I was able to do all 8 of the progressions, as well as passing, and even long balls! i was really hesitant on the long balls, but i didn't feel any pain at all so it was awesome! We don't have training tomorrow but Caroline suggested that i make a meeting with my coach Rich to work on some stuff and so the coaches can see where i'm at. So i will be training with my coach tomorrow to see how my knee is doing. Wish me luck! i'm nervous to see where im at. all my love! kj

MCL injury
Well the Kelly Beck Curse continues. i did something to my right knee at practice on Saturday. I went into a tackle, the inside of my knee started hurting really bad and then i heard a pop sound. I of course instantly freaked out thinking I tore my MCL which is the ligament that connects you femur to your tibia. Good news, I didnt! This is the same knee that i injured my Junior year in High School. The trainer said that I probably just irritated it again. She doesn't think i sprained it or anything, which is good. I go to the doctor on Wednesday so we will see what is really going on then. It hurt pretty bad the first day but when i woke up the next morning it felt soooo much better! Sunday was a good day! We won our game 1-0 against Eastern. Went in for rehab this morning, biked for 10 minutes and i had no pain at all. I really only get pain when i turn or take a weird step. Depending on how it feels tomorrow I am going to maybe try the eliptical. I'm for sure making sure it is healed though before i try to play. I don't want this to happen again, or make it worse, so i will make sure i am at 100% before i come back. I will keep you guys posted on how my healing goes. Love you!
